Laos
After years of isolation behind the bamboo curtain, Southeast Asia's most
pristine country attracts more and more visitors every year. Traditions
and village life is refreshingly untouched. Still today you experience
romantic scenes of saffron-robed monks moving silently among centuries-old
monasteries. The capital Vientiane as the historic royal city of Luang
Prabang are well worth a visit. But there is so much more to see:
The mystical Plain of Jars and in the deep South, the market town of Pakse,
the impressive Khmer temple Vat Pho and last but not least the Niagara of Asia,
the mighty Mekong falls. And do not forget to enjoy one or more cold Beerlao
while watching the sunsets on the Mekong.
