Your ride starts at the hub of the local Muslim community, where the local people are direct descendants of the Southern Thai Muslims invited by King Rama III two centuries ago to defend the capital from Khmer invaders to the east seeking to invade Bangkok using the canals. Enjoy the scenery of gentle river boats, laughing children, rice fields, green tropical landscapes and temple after temple! Visit the bizarre temple of Phurt Udom Pol, a mosque and the market town of Nong Chok. You visit a local women's cooperative, fish farms, working rice mills, traditional Thai wooden houses and an old medicine shop. You also get a close-up view of Thai village life. This is as real as it gets. No other tourists come out here!
