Day 1
Bangkok - Mekhala
What better way to experience Thailand’s picturesque riverside than on board an overnight cruise? Discover a treasure trove of architectural treasures of the two different eras – modern-day Rattanakosin and Ayutthaya of yesteryear – along the scenic Chao Phraya riverbanks as you luxuriate in the comforts of the tastefully decked out Mekhala Cruise – a boutique hotel that floats on water. At sunset, the Mekhala will dock at Wat Kai Tia, a local Buddhist temple located in a tranquil rural village. An exquisite candlelit dinner of mouth-watering Thai cuisine will be served on the deck. You will spend the night on board the boat, in your air-conditioned cabin.
Day 2
Mekhala– Ayutthaya
If you rise early, you can join in the Buddhist tradition of giving alms and making food offerings to the monks. Afterwards, you can partake of a delicious breakfast. Later in the morning, you will disembark and travel to Bang-Pa-In Summer Palace. Built in the 17th century, this palace complex showcases a collection of different styles of buildings arranged amongst beautifully landscaped gardens with an inspiring water setting. The mansions reflect Chinese, Swiss, Khmer, Thai and European styles of architecture.
