Chiang Rai panorama
Take a boat trip downstream to Chiang Saen and continue through the scenic country-side to visit Baan Kiew Karn, a village of the white Hmong hilltribe located on a hilltop. After return to Golden Triangle mountain viewpoint of Wat Phra Thatt Phu Kao. Before you return to the hotel, stop at the local market of the Ban Sob Ruak village along the Mekong.

Hall of opium
Visit the Hall of Opium, a permanent exhibition in the Golden Triangle Park. The Hall of Opium combines an excellent museum about the history of opium trade and the impact of illegal drugs, with an information centre about opium, opiates and other narcotics.

Mae Sai excursion
Visit to Mae Sai, the Northernmost point of Thailand on the Thai-Burmese border. Enroute stop at the handicraft village at Baan Wang Lao. Visit to the bustling Burmese border market and the famous jade cutting factory in Mae Sai. Stop at the Fish Cave on the way back to the hotel.

Royal Project Doi Thung
Visit the interesting Doi Tung Development Project of her Royal Highness the Princess Mother, the beloved Mother of His Majesty the King. Drive up to admire the temple of Wat Phra That Doi Tung, about 2,000 meters above sea level. Enjoy the stunning colours of the flowers in the gardens. Return to the hotel, enroute visit a hilltribe village.

Golden Triangle
Start with a boat trip downstream to Chiang Saen. Continue along the mighty Mekong River to Baan Had Pai, a Lahu hilltribe weaving village. Lunch at local restaurant in Chiang Khong. Afterwards visit Baan Kiew Karn, a village of white Hmong hilltribe located on a hilltop, before returning to the Golden Triangle viewpoint and back to the hotel.

Elephant safari
Depart by a typical longtail boat up the Kok River to a village of the Karen tribe. Enjoy on the back of an elephant the tropical jungle surroundings and ride to a Yao hilltribe village. After lunch visit an Akha village nearby and head back by a local transport to Chiang Rai.

Yesterday’s opium fields
Drive to Mae Sai, the border town between Thailand and Myanmar. Visit the lively local morning market in Mae Sai. Drive down the mountain road along the Myanmar border. This is probably the most spectacular view in the Golden Triangle. Stop at a Lahu village, and visit to the viewpoint of Phra Dhat Doi Chang Mub and enjoy your lunch high above sea level. Then continue the drive to Royal Garden and stop and the Fish and Monkey Cave, before returning to hotel.
