Day 1
Bangkok – Ayutthaya – Sukhothai
Upon arrival in Ayutthaya in the morning enjoy sightseeing of ancient ruins and historic temples of the former capital of Thailand. In 1994 it was designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Continue onto Sukhothai. Late afternoon tours of Sukhothai Historical Park. Visit ancient ruins, which dated back to 12th -14th centuries. This is another World Heritage Site, which is well-worth a careful visit. Visit includes Wat Mahathat, Wat Phra Phai Luang and Wat Sri Chum.
Day 2
Sukhothai – Lampang – Chiang Mai
Morning depart from Sukhothai for Chiang Mai via Lampang where you visit one of the most well-preserved temples in Northern Thailand – Wat Phra Dhat Lampang Luang. See also Wat Phra Keo Don Tao, a beautiful temple which reflects strong Burmese-influenced in its architecture. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue onto Chiang Mai.
Late afternoon arrive at Chiang Mai and visit its most famous landmark, a hilltop temple of Wat Phra Dhat Doi Suthep. Visit this interesting temple and enjoy a bird-eye-view of Chiang Mai valley and beyond from temple’s terrace.
Day 3
Chiang Mai
After breakfast proceed northward to the Elephant Camp and enjoy the Elephant Show (Optional Elephant Safari and Bamboo rafting). Late morning visit a beautiful orchid farm and lunch.
Afternoon continue to Sankamphaeng district, famous for its fabulous home industries. Visit handicraft workshops, such as paper umbrella making, silk-weaving, woodcarving and silversmith (shopping character).
Day 4
Chiang Mai – Phrae – Phitsanulok
Depart for Phitsanulok via Phrae and enjoy sightseeing of this charming small town. Visits include Wat Chom Sawan, a Buddhist temple built in typical Burmese style, and Baan Prathab Jai – an old private mansion built entirely with golden teak woods and houses an interesting collections of artifacts.
Lunch at a local restaurant and continue to Phitsanulok. Upon arrival, visit Wat Maha Dhat, famous for its most beautiful 16th century bronze Buddha image.
Day 5
Phitsanulok – Bangkok
After breakfast at the hotel depart from Phitsanulok for Bangkok.
Stop may be made at the local market on the way. Lunch included at a local restaurant. Late afternoon arrive in Bangkok.
